Dateline:April-8-2011, Spencer earned his Yellow Belt at the Sykes Karate dojo in Colorado. He tested with two other students who were adults with no physical differences.

The testing was really amazing to watch. His mom Jennifer, his step dad Doug and his 13 month old brother Owen were there to witness it with his dad Coburn watching the whole thing via FaceTime from California.

His Sensei, Seth Sykes was amazing and designed a test that took into account Spencer's body while still pushing him to the limit and challenging him to remember the forms.

The 30 minute test concluded with a wonderful ritual were the students were told the history of the belts and what the yellow belt meant, the first earned belt and a sign of Caution as now training had been recieved.

They wiped the sweat from thier brows into the belt and his Sensei tied it onto him.

"How are you going to get that off Spencer?"

"I am going to sleep in it."
