Spencer earns his Orange belt in Karate! Print E-mail

Spencer_Orange_Belt
On July 29th Spencer tested for and earned his Orange Belt in Karate! He is three takedowns that really impressed his Sensei. He had to do a lot of kicking, and even got to break a board with his head! Spencer is very excited to have acheived this belt! We are happy he got to test for this before he has surgery on August 3rd to shorten his left stump to match the length of his right stump. Spencer will be unable to participate in Karate classes for about eight weeks, but then we expect him to return with a strong passion to reach his blue belt before 2011 is out!

Spencer and his Dad, Coburn Hawk - SpencerHawk.comSince our son Spencer was born in 2001, we have noticed that given the rarity of T.A.R. Syndrome, there is not a lot out there for new parents and their families. Many doctor's are unfamilar with this rare disorder and it is our stand that this site raise awareness for T.A.R. Syndrome and provide people with the information they need. It is also a celebration of the amazing spirit of Spencer, the best son in the whole wide world.
